How can I save today?

Hello everyone. The look for today is a photo shoot with Speedlite Photography. Hope you enjoy and feel free to send me any product recommendation's that have worked for you. If you notice I only talk about the most important products that were used in the picture. Thanks.

EYES

• False lashes. Fashion Lashes $ 3.49, Sephora lashes $ 8.00
  

• Mascara & Eyeliner. Both from L'oreal each cost $7.99. I love these products although we could find a cheaper brand, I find that these products are a total bargain for what they do.
  

FACE

• Primer - I used Smash box photo finish primer, which is amazing. You can find it at sephora for $42.00. Then as I was walking the aisles of Walgreen's I found the L'oreal Studio Secrets primer which is new to the market and only cost $13.49. Bargain and it really works.
  

• Cheeks - I used Nars orgasm blush, amazing color and finish but the price is not so friendly. Sold at Nars website, Sephora or few department stores for $26.00. On the other hand you could use Sephora's Blush Me collection in Meringue Jalouse for $12.00. Less than half off.

• Highlighter as far as this product... I would not change it for anything in this world. I guess we could choose to have a guilty pleasure. Retail price is of $28.00
  

• Foundation- wow! So I thought there was not a better product than HD Makeup Forever foundation. I would mix it up a little with the Moon Beam from Benefit and walla, perfect complexion. Then I would finish my look with the Micro finish loose powder from Makeup Forever to mattify and be camera perfect. So these two products would add up to a total of $70.00, I did not realize what I was doing. Then I found the Revlon's Photo Finish foundation and the Photo ready powder. Both of these products come in several different tones and the powder also comes in translucent. The price for both of these together is $26.48 but, you could find some deals for example at Walgreen's they had a promotion of buy one ,get one 1/2 off. Sweat deal no.??

Keep your skin GLOWING with ZUMBA!!!

Believe it or not...

"It's no secret that exercise has important benefits for the entire body. But what many people don't realize is that our skin is the largest organ of our body, and thus, the benefits can be enormous," says Audrey Kunin, MD, a Kansas City, Mo., dermatologist and author of The DERMAdoctor Skinstruction Manual.

When we think about exercise we automatically relate it to getting fit, loosing weight, toning, and some people may see it like BORING. But, now there is yet another amazing reason as to why we should exercise our bodies frequently.

In humans, skin is the largest part of the integumentary system; what a big word, it is just a Latin word that means "to cover". Well, anyways our skin is so amazing that we should focus on taking care of it on a daily basis. Not only is the primary protector of our bodies but it is our insulation system, our thermometer, it activates vitamin D (which we get from sun exposure) and it is just another element that makes us look beautiful. Can you only imagine a body without skin?? Umm, not a pretty image right?.

So with that being said I want to share some tips to ensure we all maintain a healthy glowing skin.

1. Cleanse your skin at least twice a day. According to your skin type choose a cleanser that best fits your needs.
2. Always wear sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher to avoid any skin damages from sun exposure. Use a moisturizer and a foundation that have SPF to always be protected. At nigh use a richer and creamier moisturizer. Try to apply your moisturizer while the skin is still a bit wet, it will lock in the moisturizer better.
   
3. Exfoliate regularly (twice a week) to remove unwanted dead cells.
4. NEVER GO TO BED WEARING MAKEUP. Always remove it, if you don't wear makeup...wash your face anyways.
5. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables which are high in antioxidants (these rejuvenate your skin). It will also aid in preventing breakouts.
   
6. Drink PLENTY of water. Lots of water.... it also prevents breakouts.
   

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY EXERCISE REGULARLY...

• Not only does exercising increase your blood circulation but, it helps to your cells renew faster and more efficiently carrying more nutrients to the skin. Regular exercise also stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed than you were before you worked out. It also gives you more energy therefore, it may also increase your desire for pleasure. Now a workout can be super fun!!!

ZUMBA.... FUN. FUN. FUN. For all of you out there that have not yet experience the thrill and excitement of going to a Zumba class, I recommend it to everyone. You will be addicted by the first class, and the benefits of it will be noticeable almost immediately. In another note, who doesn't like Latin music? I thought so.

So to all of you out there fans of Makeup Forever who wish the foundation was a bit less pricey here is a recommendation! While browsing in the cosmetic section of a store I came across this makeup... Revlon's Photo Finish, I bought it to try it out and guess what it works! It has an amazing finish velvety like and most important it cost $13.49. Try it and save some bucks! It i the equivalent of the HD Foundation of Makeup Forever, and remember just because a cosmetic is expensive doesn't mean it's the best out there! We can always find great deals if we become SMART SHOPPERS! Thanks till next time!

Secret find

L'oreal finally came up with a product that works and of course it's more inexpensive. It's called studio perfecting base , in other words it is a primer. You can get it at walgreens or CVS for $12.99. I was using smashbox primer, it's amazing but I can save a little.

BRIGHT EYES.....NEUTRAL LIPS!!!!


A few new hues for different skin colors; for this spring and summer we should try to do bright eyes with super natural lip color and rose/pink cheek color.


if your skin is a fair/light tone...



Let's play with some matte shimmers with peachy or pale pink hues in the cheeks. The eyes will definitely stand out in a sparkling green/blue creamy shadow (the color I'm talking about is the color of Cancun, Mexico ocean, if you've been there then you will know what I'm talking about), this will look amazing against the alabaster color of fair skin. So when you use such color in your eyes PLEASE ensure your lips are tinted in a creamy nude or a pinky pearl color that will complement the whole makeup overall.


Pale pink blush



if your skin is a medium tone...




You already have a beautiful color, so you don't want to overdo it or ruin the natural flawless look; so take these tips and follow them. Keep in mind that when you are shopping for cheek color you stay with a brown-based blush or a bronzer as a blush. Now think about the color indigo... that's the color you want to put in your eyes. About the lips same thing; NUDES NUDES NUDES.






if your skin is a dark tone...



Dark/tan skin. What a beautiful color? There is so many options for your skin tone but for this spring stick with those vivid eye shadows, neutral lips and coraly cheek shades. For example; why don't you play with bright fresh colors like coral, sun kissed, an bright pinks for your cheeks. These tones will make your complexion look vibrant while at the same time adding some glow. Pair your eye color with a violet/purple shade to enhance the color of your eyes, and again neutral reddish/brown lips. But remember when your doing bright eye shadows do light or neutral lips. You will be ready for a night out or a day at the mall in any minute.

I just found this amazing treatment for the lips! It works wonders... It's a 2 step process! First the satin lips mask which you apply and rub on your lips... Colors for the Spring/Summer 2010

Pink and orange... is spring ahead?

We all get tired of seeing the same colors over and over again; Red, plums & neutrals? This coming season, sunny shades of fuchsia and coral are making our cheeks, lips and outfits look refreshed. Don't think that the gold and bronzed looks are out of the picture rather think about how you can spike these looks with a bit more color. So let me recommend some popular colors and brands that will suit you good this season.





Don't hesitate to try out a new shade of pink in your cheeks or lips. Dare to step outside the box with new colors that will make your spring look fascinating. To start off you can go with the Tarte lip stain, which is like a lip balm and it applies just a dab of color. If you are already use to color then try that dusty rose from Lorac, It will dazzle your lips. And, if you wanna keep it safe go with the sun kissed orange tones.
